Ghaat (Maize Porridge)




Ingredients

Quantity
Maize germ
½ cup
Water
2 cups
Salt
to taste 
Ghee
1 tsp


Wash maize germ well.

Add water and salt.

Bring to a boil, stirring continuously, to avoid forming lumps. Cover loosely and cook on very low flame.

Stir frequently and add more water if required.

Takes about 25-30 minutes to cook well.

Take off fire, add ghee, stir well well and serve with curds or hot milk and sugar.
