Cheese Ball Curry












Ingredients

For 4
Cheese 
225gms
Refined flour
115gms
Eggs
4
Salt and pepper
to taste
Oil for frying


Gravy:


Onions
60gms
Garlic
2 flakes
Ginger
a small piece
Tomato puree
30 ml
Chilli powder
½  tsp
Dried plums
15gms
Fat
60gms
Turmeric
a  pinch
Coriander leaves
a few


Sieve flour, salt and pepper. Add finely grated cheese. Beat egg yolks and add to dry ingredients. Mix well. Let the mixture stands for at least ½ hour. Heat the oil. While oil is heating beat egg whites stiff and fold into the mixture lightly but thoroughly. Put teaspoonfuls of the mixture into the hot oil. Remove as they turn a light golden brown colour. Drain on absorbent paper.

N. B.      Do not allow to fry too long or else the cheese balls become tough.

Gravy:

Grind together onions, garlic, ginger, chilli powder and turmeric. Heat the fat. Add ground spices. Add tomato puree, plums and a little water. Simmer for 5 minutes. Add fried cheese balls and simmer for another 2 – 3 minutes. Serve hot garnished with chopped coriander leaves.
