Macch Koftas



















Ø  250 gms fresh filleted cod
Ø  2 small onions
Ø  4 bunches of coriander fresh leaves or parsley
Ø  1 tsp garam masala
Ø  3 eggs
Ø  3 tblsp bread crumbs
Ø  2 tblsp ground mangoes (Amchoor)
Ø  1 tsp chilli pwd
Ø  Ghee or fat (oil etc) for frying
Ø  Salt to taste

Put the fish in a little water and bring it to a boil. Then take it off immediately and drain off the water. Allow it to cool. Then remove the skin and any bones. Place in a mixing bowl and mash thoroughly. Add minced onions and herbs (squeezed dry), salt, garam masala, chilli powder and the ground mango. Mix well and shape the mixture into about 15 balls. Now heat the oil to boiling point and after dipping the koftas in the well beaten eggs and rolling them in the bread crumbs, fry them in deep oil or fat on medium flame. Serve them hot with tamarind chutney or any other spicy chutney.
