Ø 500 gms fish
Ø 2 bread crumbs
Ø 2 beaten eggs
Ø 4 onions minced
Ø 2” piece ginger, minced
Ø 10 cloves of garlic, minced
Ø ½ tsp garam masala
Ø 1 tsp cumin seeds, roasted and ground
Ø 6 tblsp ghee
Ø Salt to taste
Steam the fish. Remove the bones and make a paste of it. Now mix into the fish paste, bread crumbs, beaten eggs, onions, ginger, garlic garam masala, cumin seed powder and salt. Grind them in a mixture to get a uniform homogeneous paste.
Make small balls of equal size from the paste and flatten it by your hands or the rolling pins. Heat ghee in a thick bottomed pan or tava and fry at medium flame till the tikkas turn golden brown. Serve hot with tomatoes and onions.
