Cabbage Stew (Cabbage Kootu)




Ingredients

Toor dal
1 cup
Cabbage
200gms
French beans
50gms
Tomato
1 ripe
Drumstick
1
Thick tamarind juice
1 tsp
Sugar
1 tsp
Chilli powder
1 tsp
Asafoetida
½ tsp
Peeled black gram dal
½ tsp
Black mustard seeds
½ tsp
Coriander seeds
1 tbsp
Pepper seeds

Coconut (a small piece)

Salt
to taste 


Boil dal.

Chop vegetables into small pieces. Boil.

Mix both with chilli powder, salt, asafetida, sugar and tamarind juice.

Heat the oil. Fry black gram dal and mustard seeds.

Grind coconut, coriander seeds and pepper seeds.

Add both masalas to the kootu, cook for 5 minutes on low heat.
