Spinach

Bengal gram flour

Split Bengal gram

Peanuts

Turmeric

Salt

Soak gram for 2 – 3 hours. Shell and soak peanuts. Cook spinach with the gram and shelled and soaked peanuts. Mash the mixture well. Add gram flour to the mixture and mix it properly. Beat curds and water to make thick buttermilk. Add to the spinach mixture and cook till it boils. Heat the fat, add slit green chillies and cumin. When the seeds crackle, add turmeric and pour the tempering over the spinach and buttermilk mixture. Add salt and sugar. Cook for five minutes more. Serve hot.
