Hard-boil and shell eggs. Grind to a fine paste coconut, chilli powder, peppercorns, cloves, cinnamon and salt. Slit eggs lengthwise and stuff with ground spices. Tie with threads. Heat the fat. Add sliced onions and brown. Add remaining spices and a little water and simmer till spices are cooked. Add eggs and bring to boil. Remove.
