Sugar syrup:

Lime juice

Sift flour and soda bicarbonate together, mix with semolina. Add sugar, lime juice, fat, salt and cardamom powder and water to make a thin batter. Set aside for half an hour. Prepare a sugar syrup with sugar and water. Clarify with lime juice; keep it lukewarm. Heat a little fat in a fry-pan. Pour a spoon of mixture. Spread it to a round of 10 cm. (4”) diameter. Pour a little hot fat around. Turn over and fry. Remove excess fat and repeat process. Put fried malpuras into prepared sugar syrup.
