Mutton Kofta Curry
















For Kofta

Ø  500 gms minced and well boiled mutton
Ø  1 large onion, chopped
Ø  1 tblsp besan
Ø  1 egg
Ø  4 green chillies, chopped
Ø  1 inch long piece of ginger, grated
Ø  ½ tsp of chilli pwd
Ø  Ghee or oil for deep frying
Ø  Salt to taste

For Curry

Ø  250 gms peeled and sliced tomatoes
Ø  1 large sized onion, chopped
Ø  3 cloves garlic, chopped
Ø  1 inch long piece of ginger, grated
Ø  ½ tsp turmeric pwd
Ø  ½ tsp garam masala
Ø  A bunch of coriander leaves
Ø  A few cashew nuts, broken into small pieces.

Barring oil, put all the ingredients meant for koftas into a mixer and grind the whole lot into a thick paste. Shape the paste into small balls. Heat the oil and deep fry the balls (kofta)

For curry preparation
Heat 3 tblsp oil and fry onion, ginger, etc., till they turn golden brown. Now add tomatoes, turmeric powder, garam masala and salt. Add 2 cups of water and bring the whole lot of boil. Reduce the flame and then add fried kofta balls. Simmer for five minutes more. Serve garnished with crushed cashewnut, coriander leaves.
