Chicken Tomatoes


Ø  Clean and cut 10 pieces, chicken.
Ø  6 talsp ghee, 2 bay leaves
Ø  2 tblsp poppy seeds (ground in ½ cup milk)
Ø  750 gms blanched and mashed tomatoes
Ø  3 large grated onions
Ø  10 dry red chillies
Ø  10 pods of garlic
Ø  ½” ginger, Salt to taste
Ø  ½ tblsp turmeric pwd

Grind the dry red chillies, garlic, ginger to a thick, homogeneous paste. Then add salt.

Now heat ghee and fry bay leaves and onion till golden brown . Throw in all the ground spices and fry 2 to 3 mts. Then add chicken and fry for yet another 4 to 5 minutes. Now add to it tomato pulp, salt and sugar and cook on low flame (with lid on) till chicken is tender and somewhat dry . Add poppy seed mixture and fry well for another 5 to 6 minutes. Serve hot with nans or chapattis.
