Lemon Dal (Nimmakai Pappu)




Ingredients

Toor dal
½ cup
Large lemon

Turmeric
1 pinch
Ginger
1 large piece
Green chillies

Curry leaves
1 stem
Oil
1 tbsp
Black gram dal (urad dal)
½ tsp
Black mustard seeds
½ tsp
Red chilli
1
Salt
to taste 


Extract lemon juice.

Peel the ginger and chop finely. Chop the green chillies finely. Clean and pluck curry leaves.

Boil the toor gram well.

Add salt and turmeric and cook. Remove when thick. Add lemon juice, green chillies, curry leaves and ginger.

Break red chilli into pieces. Fry black gram, mustard seeds, red chilli and asafetida. Add to dal as seasoning.
