Buttermilk Khichidi




Ingredients

Quantity
Ordinary rice (not basmati)
1 ½ cups
Butter milk
5 cups
Mixed gram dal, urad dal & cashew bits
1 tbsp
Curry leaves
2 stalks
Red chillies
2
Ghee or oil
2 tbsp
Salt
to taste 
Chopped coriander
1 tbsp
Cumin & mustard seeds
½ tsp


Heat ghee, add dals and cashew and cashew bits. Fry till light brown. Add cumin & mustard seeds, curry leaves red chillies and buttermilk in that order. Add salt and rice and cook covered on low heat till done. Garnish with coriander. Serve piping hot.
