Mutton and potato curry

Wash and cut up the meat. Wash, peel and cut the potatoes. Slice onions, peel and slice half the garlic and ginger. Soak tamarind. Grind remaining half of garlic and ginger. Heat the fat. Fry onions, sliced garlic, ginger and whole chillies. Add turmeric, coriander powder and chilli powder. Fry well, sprinkle water from time to time. When well fried add the ground ginger and garlic, meat and fry for 5 minutes. Add potatoes and salt with warm water. Cook gently till meat is tender. Add tamarind water, bring to boil and remove from fire.
