Apple-Honey Rice













Ingredients
Quantity

Rice – boiled and drained
250gms
Ghee

Onions – finely chopped
2
Apple – peeled, cores & grated
4
Lemon juice
1
Salt
to taste  
Honey
3 tbsp
Nutmeg
1 pinch
Saffron (dissolved in a little warm milk)
1 pinch
Walnuts – shelled and chopped
1 handful


(Rice lightly flavored with apple and honey)

Heat ghee in a heavy bottomed pan and fry the chopped onion until crisp. Remove from ghee and keep aside.

Add the cooked rice and sauté for two minutes. Add lime juice and salt to the grated apples and mix lightly. Add the seasoned apples to the cooked rice and mix lightly.

Add honey, nutmeg powder and saffron to the rice and keep stirring on low heat for five minutes. Serve hot, garnished with walnuts.
