Cook red gram till very soft. Soak tamarind and extract juice. Fry spices, coconut and other gram in a little fat and grind to a soft paste. Add the spices, gram masala, curry leaves and washed rice to cooked garam. Add salt. Add sufficient hot water to cook mixture by absorption method. Garnish with chopped coriander leaves and fried cashewnuts. Serve hot with clarified butter.
