Navaratan Dal
















Ø  500 gms split red dal
Ø  75 gms green peas
Ø  75 gms beans
Ø  75 gms carrot
Ø  75 gms potatoes
Ø  10 gms green chilli
Ø  10 gms red chilli pwd
Ø  3 gms turmeric pwd
Ø  10 gms ginger, garlic
Ø  50 gms tomato
Ø  10 gms mustard seeds
Ø  5 gms cumin
Ø  10 gms curry leaves
Ø  10 gms coriander leaves
Ø  10 gms salt
Ø  50 gms dalda
Ø  50 gms onions


Clean and soak the dal for 30 minutes and keep it aside .Clean and cut the vegetables into dices and keep it in water.Boil the dal till it is cooked soft. Keep it on slow fire. Heat half of the fat or dalda and fry the slice onion, slice tomatoes, chopped ginger and garlic slit green chilli and fry it for a few minutes. Add red chilli powder, turmeric and fry it for another 2 to 3 minutes .Add the cooked dal to the masala and season it with salt simmer.

Heat the remaining fat and temper the dal with mustard seeds, cumin seeds, curry leaves and half chopped coriander leaves. Mix it well and check the seasoning. Remove from fire and serve hot garnished with the remaining coriander leaves. Serve it with rice or chappathi
